Mission Statement

    The mission of the Vegetable Lab is several-fold: to unravel fundamental principles of biology, biochemistry, biocontrol agents,  genetics and molecular biology of horticultural crops; to develop state-of-the-art technologies for production of high quality vegetables and for reducing losses due to diseases, pests and physiological disorders; and to test and optimize biocontrol agents and genetically enhanced vegetables in environmentally friendly sustainable production systems. Specific crops slated for improvement and quality enhancement are: potatoes, tomatoes, beans, peppers, and other vegetables.
