Symptoms of potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) on tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum cv. Rutgers) include epinasty, rugosity, and lateral twisting of leaflets, and severe stunting of plants. We are studying the molecular determinants of viroid pathogenicity by investigating both the influence of the viroid and host plant genomes.
