Prunus necrotic ringspot virus

Symptoms on leaves of fruit of sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.) infected with a rugose strain of Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) (left). PNRSV exists as a number of biologically distinct isolates. We have developed sensitive and rapid polymerase chain reaction assays to discriminate among the isolates to aid in disease control.
