A schematic diagram of the tomato gene, PKV, a protein kinase that appears to be transcriptionally activated in plants infected with the strains of potato spindle tuber viroid which cause disease. We are investigating the signalling pathways that may be triggered in viroid infection that ultimately lead to the development of symptoms.
