Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as Research Entomologist responsible for developing new or improved control tactics and strategies against the gypsy moth and other pests. Emphasis is placed on biological, physical, or semiochemical control agents and tactics that are inherently safe for man and the environment. The above techniques are combined with improved survey and evaluation technology into management programs for use by homeowners and other urban/suburban land managers.
Objectives:

  • Develop new or improved control tactics and strategies against the gypsy moth and other pests. Emphasis is placed on biological, physical, or semiochemical control with improved survey and evaluation technology into management programs for use by homeowners and other urban/suburban land managers.
